General Crags A undment.
The following amendinents are hereby made in General Orders:
(1) General Order No.75 (iki), as amended by General Order Amendment
No.81 of 16th Novembor, 4940, is deleted.

(2) General Order No. 76 is onded by the deletion of the last sentence
"The Governor shall consult the Executive Council in all cases dealt
"with under this Order before taking his decision".
(3) General Order No.77 Le mended by the deletion of sections (ii) ani.
(v) and substitution therefor of the following ··
(ii) If the officer does not furnish such statement within the
time fixed by the Governor, or if he fails to exculpatc himself to the satisfaction of the Governor, the Governor shall appoint ~ Committee to inquire into the matter. The Committee shall consist of not less than three persons. The chairman chall be a Judge, Magistrate, or Legal Officer. The members of the Committee need not be members of the Executive Council, but they shall be selected with due rogard to the standin, of the officer concerned, and to the nature and quality of the complaints which are the subject of the inquiry. The head of the officer's department shall not be
a member of the Committee.
(v) The Committee may in its discretion permit the Government,
or the officer, to be represented by an officer in the public service or, in exceptional cases, by solicitor or counsel, and may at any time, subject to such adjournment as in the circumstances may be re uired, withdraw such permission; provided that here the Committee permit the Government to be represented the shall not refuse the officer permission to be similarly regresonted.
(4) General Order No.85, as amended by General Order Amendment No.61 of
16th November, 1940, is amended by the deletion of the commas and
words "

after consultation with the Executive Council," between the
words "Governor" and "consilers" in the first two lines.
